Acacia that puts root on savanna in Africa tree. It grows up in as many as 15m in height.

As for the acacia belonging, a lot of about 600 kinds are especially distributed from the tropics to the temperate zone in an Australian continent. It is assumed that it doesn't grow up in the Kanto north in Japan. Because the black locust that had been imported at the Meiji era was called an acacia at that time, it is often still confused. Moreover, the Fusa acacia etc. to which floriculture is grown are originally called by the name of the mimosa that indicates the sensitive plant.

The honey sold as an acacia honey is honey of Harienju (black locust).
