＜サンタクロースの姿＞
日本においては白ヒゲをはやした太りぎみの老人の男で、ニコニコとして赤い服を着ている。白い大きな袋にクリスマスプレゼントを入れて肩に担ぎ、赤い鼻のトナカイが引くそりに乗り空を飛んで、家々の子どもたちが寝ている間にプレゼントを配る。煙突から家に入るとされるが、だれも見たことがないので煙突がない場合はどうしているのか不明である。子供向けのサンタクロースに関する小冊子によっては、煙突がない場合、テレビ画面からでてくると解説しているものもある。
